Stephen Goldsmith, a former mayor of Indianapolis and campaign advisor for President George W. Bush, has joined Loop Capital Financial Consulting Services, LLC as a senior advisor.
Goldsmith will focus on advising government and private sector clients on strategic and financial issues related to infrastructure. The hire extends Loop Capital’s capabilities in the infrastructure sector.
“Steve has a national reputation as an innovator in helping public sector entities improve their fiscal and operational performance,” said Jim Reynolds, Loop Capital’s chairman and chief executive officer. “He is one of the country’s preeminent experts in public-private partnerships, which we believe will help Loop Capital further expand the services it already provides to governmental entities throughout the country.”
Goldsmith is the Daniel Paul Professor of Government and the Director of the Innovations in American Government Program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where he has been for the past 14 years. He previously served as deputy mayor for operations of New York City from 2010 to 2011 and was mayor of Indianapolis from 1992-2000, where he earned a reputation as one of the country's leaders in public-private partnerships, competition and privatization. Goldsmith was also the chief domestic policy advisor to the George W. Bush campaign in 2000.
