The composite index of leading economic indicators gained 0.4% in May, the Conference Board reported yesterday.
The change in the April LEI was revised upward to flat, after originally being reported as a 0.1% dip. The coincident index was up 0.4% in May, after a revised 0.4% increase in April, initially reported as a 0.3% hike.
The lagging index fell 0.1% after being revised downward to unchanged in April from an originally reported increase of 0.1%. LEI stands at 109.5, the coincident index is 100.5 and the lagging index is at 107.9.
Economists predicted LEI would be up 0.2% in the month.
