NEW YORK — U.S. factory orders grew 0.1% in July, as aircraft orders propelled durable goods orders skyward, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.
Orders excluding transportation fell 1.5%, the fourth consecutive decline.
Economists expected factory orders would fall 1.2% for the month, according to the median estimate from Thomson Reuters.
Factory orders in June were revised lower to a drop of 0.2% from the 0.1% slide reported last month. June orders excluding transportation were revised higher to a 0.6% decline from the previously reported 1.1% dip.
