Jennifer Fredericks heads to SOLVE as sales director

Jennifer Fredericks has joined SOLVE, a market data platform provider for fixed income securities, as sales director.

Fredericks joins SOLVE after most recently working at Ice Miller LLP, where she was director of business development for public finance.

The hire is part of SOLVE's deeper move into the municipal asset class and comes on the heels of last year's acquisition of fintech company Lumesis.

"We just passed the year anniversary" of the Lumesis acquisition, said Mike Pascuma, SOLVE's chief revenue officer and head of business development. "We had a number of key acquisitions in 2022 as part of an expansion of our in the municipal asset class," Pascuma said. "With [Fredericks'] extensive muni background and network and overall her personality, drive and focus and how much she's involved with women leaders in public finance, it was something that made a lot of sense."

Fredericks sits on the national board of Women in Public Finance and oversees its popular annual conference. She was at Ice Miller for two years and before that spent eight years at BNY Mellon, where she was a vice president of business development for the corporate trust group.

Fredericks will initially focus on munis but will also sell across the entire fixed-income asset class.

"There's so much information right now, but having the right understanding of how a deal works from inception to sale is really where you can make that data work for the people that need it," Fredericks said. "I feel like I've had unique opportunities throughout the municipal asset class and opportunities to really be entrenched in the transactions from A to Z," she said. "This will take it to the next level in terms of how we will use this data to help the muni market."

SOLVE launched in 2011 with the goal of improving price transparency across fixed income markets, primarily collecting pre-trade price data, such as bids and offers, across half a million different securities, including munis. The Lumesis DIVER product suite provided additional municipal asset class workflow, analytics related to price transparency, and regulatory-related solutions to SOLVE's Market Data Platform.

Earlier in 2022, the firm acquired Advantage Data and Best Credit Data. With roughly 160 employees, SOLVE has offices in New York as well as across the globe. Fredericks will be based in Chicago.

At BNY Mellon, Fredericks led corporate trust business development efforts for public finance and municipal not-for-profits with an additional focus on project finance and public-private partnerships. Before joining BNY Mellon in 2018, she served as regional president and vice president of product program and retail operations for the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana for six years.

Fredericks previously worked for six years at JPMorgan, where she was an assistant vice president of securities and managed a team of relationship managers. Fredericks is also an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Calumet College of Saint Joseph, where she also is a board trustee. She earned her master's degree in business administration from Purdue University Northwest.
