Times will remain tough for manufacturers in 2009, while the non-manufacturing sector will see marginal growth, according to a survey of purchasing and supply management executive released yesterday.

Expectations for manufacturing in 2009 are pessimistic as 65% of the Institute for Supply Management’s December semiannual economic forecast survey respondents expect revenue to be the same or smaller in 2009 than in 2008.
