Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy announced the award of $5 million to 11 cities, towns, and regional planning organizations for transit-oriented development aimed at improving links between communities and their transportation infrastructure.
The State Bond Commission approved the funding earlier this year. The Department of Transportation and the Office of Policy and Management received 23 applications totaling $13.2 million.
The money went to Hartford, Meriden, New Britain, New Haven, New London, Norwalk, Stamford, Stratford, the Valley Council of Governments (Derby and Shelton), Windsor, and Windsor Locks.
