New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced the appointment of Vicki Fuller as the new chief investment officer for the $150.3 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund.
The fund is the third-largest public pension fund in the nation and earned an estimated 5.96% rate of return for New York's 2011-2012 fiscal year.
Fuller is a veteran of AllianceBernstein in New York where she designed investment processes, built and managed investment teams, and generated investment returns.
She served as a senior portfolio manager for the firm's Global Wealth channel as well as co-head of the Global High Yield Group.
"I am thrilled to have an executive of Vicki's caliber lead our team of investment professionals," DiNapoli said in a statement. "Her 30 years of investment experience will be extremely beneficial in these volatile economic times."
Fuller will begin Aug. 30.
