Fitch names Bohner head of public finance
Arlene Bohner has been named as head of U.S. public finance at Fitch Ratings, the agency announced on Tuesday.
Bohner will report to Laura Porter, Fitch’s analytical global group head of public finance and infrastructure ratings.
At the same time, senior director Eric Kim has been chosen to lead Fitch’s state government ratings group; senior director Michael Rinaldi was appointed head of national local government ratings; and director Kevin Dolan has been picked to lead the local government team for the East and Midwest regions.
A senior credit analyst at Fitch for 10 years, Bohner was most recently head of state and local government ratings. Previously, she worked at MuniPro and at Moody’s Investors Service, where she was a vice president and senior credit officer covering tax-supported and revenue-supported credits in the Great Lakes and Northeast regions.
“The strong and complementary skills of this management team provide the municipal bond market with over five decades of experience in these unsettled times and positon Fitch for continued strong coverage of both state and local government ratings and USPF revenue sector issuers,” Porter said.
Kim joined Fitch in 2007 and is the lead analyst for states including Illinois and Pennsylvania, as well as the department’s subject matter expert for Medicaid and state transportation issues. Prior to joining Fitch, he was chief of staff for the first deputy commissioner at the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission and also worked as a project manager at the Lower Manhattan Borough Commissioner’s Office in the NYC Department of Transportation.
Rinaldi has been at Fitch for 12 years and most recently managed Fitch’s tax-supported ratings for the East and Midwest regions. He began his municipal finance career at S&P Global Ratings and also worked as a vice president at FGIC.
Dolan has worked at Fitch since 2010 and was most recently the lead credit analyst for ratings of tax and revenue-supported issuances in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. Before joining Fitch, he was at Ambac where he was responsible for the credit analysis and approval for insurance of munis issued by governments in all 50 states.
