The California Senate on Monday confirmed Ana Matosantos as director of the Department of Finance.
Matosantos was originally appointed to the position in late 2009 by Gov. Jerry Brown’s predecessor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Brown made Matosantos, a Democrat, one of his first cabinet picks after he won the governor’s race in November. She has been serving on an interim basis since Brown took office in January.
The Senate voted 35-1 to confirm Matosantos, according to the Sacramento Bee.
