Mr. Hee was a vice president in the health group of the public finance department at Kidder, Peabody & Co. from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. Prior to joining Kidder Peabody, Mr. Hee was a health care management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. He earned a master's of business from Columbia University.

Mr. Hee left Wall Street to fulfill family obligations, joining the family business in the 1980s, eventually becoming its president and chief executive officer.

Successfully melding his investment banking and management consultant expertise to a traditional product line with a limited geographical footprint, Mr. Hee regularly created new product lines and significantly expanded geographic distribution. As on Wall Street, his creativity, energy, drive, and effervescent personality were catalysts for success, according to Ron Halper, who had worked with Mr. Hee at Kidder Peabody.

In addition to his family and business responsibilities, Mr. Hee was active in public service, serving as current chairman and past treasurer of the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in New York City and as chairman of the Small Business and Agricultural Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 2001. Mr. Hee was also a member of the council from 1999 to 2000.

"He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother," said Halper, a longtime friend and colleague. "He was a cherished friend and valued colleague. We miss him."

Mr. Hee is survived by his wife, Ethel, two children, his mother, and three sisters.

Services will be held at Chun Fook Funeral Home, 134-35 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY, 11354, from 3 to 7 p.m. on May 28 and 10 a.m. to noon on May 29.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a college trust fund for Dickson's children.
