Dan Champeau Leaves FSA, Heads Back to Fitch

Former Financial Security Assurance director Dan Champeau has rejoined Fitch Ratings as head of business development for the U.S. public finance group and the global infrastructure and project finance group, the rating agency said.Champeau will report to Peter Jordan, group managing director and head of global business development.

"Dan's hiring strengthens Fitch's commitment to increasing its value to public finance market participants," Jordan said.

Champeau will work in relationship management and handle strategy responsibilities for investors, issuers, investment bankers and financial advisers, the agency said.

Champeau worked at Fitch for 13 years before moving to FSA in 2007. In his previous tenure at Fitch, he held various senior positions including heading the New York public finance office and the Americas global infrastructure and project finance group.

He also managed all revenue bond and infrastructure ratings groups nationwide, including transportation, public power utilities, health care and hospitals, and sports and entertainment facilities, among other sectors. He was also the vice chairman of the public finance executive committee.

With more than has more than 17 years' experience in the bond industry, Champeau is a member of Municipal Analysts Group of New York and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, and has served on committees for Airports Council International-North America.

He won the Smith's Research and Ratings Review "All Star Analyst" award in special revenue bonds and in November 2003 was a recipient of the Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal's "40 Under Forty" award, reflecting his work in sports facility project and public financings.
