Cozen Gets Unkovic

Cozen O’Connor last week announced that David Unkovic has joined the public and project finance practice in its Philadelphia office. Unkovic left his position as managing director and chief compliance officer at PFM Asset Management.

“David’s nearly thirty years of experience with a vast array of issuers, borrowers, and investment banking firms brings new and complementary capabilities to our public finance practice and will allow us to serve a wider variety of clients,” said Suzanne Mayes, co-chair of the public and project finance practice group at Cozen. “The addition of a public finance veteran of his caliber is an integral part of our plan to continue to expand the practice area.”

Mayes worked with Unkovic at Saul Ewing LLP, where he had been a partner in the public finance department before joining PFM.

“I worked with Suzanne for nearly 16 years, so when I decided to return to transactional work as a bond lawyer, the opportunity to work with her again at an entrepreneurial, thriving firm like Cozen O’Connor was a natural choice,” Unkovic said.

Over the past several years, Cozen attorneys have closed more than $10 billion in bond financings for a variety of clients.

Unkovic is a member of the American College of Bond Counsel, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the National Society of Compliance Professionals, and the Pennsylvania Association of Bond Lawyers. He attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and earned his law degree from Harvard.
