Chicago Fed Index Falls 0.7% to 107.6

The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index slid 0.7% in March to a seasonally adjusted level of 107.6, as the February index was revised to a 0.8% decrease to 108.4 from the originally reported 0.5% drop, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reported yesterday.

Nationally, the Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing was off flat in March. Overall manufacturing output in the region jumped 0.6% from a year earlier, compared to a 1.4% rise in output nationally.
