Chicago Fed: CFMMI Drops 1.1% in March to 81.0

The Chicago Fed Midwest manufacturing index slipped 1.1% in April to a seasonally adjusted level of 81.0 after the March report showed a revised 2.9% decrease to 81.8, originally reported as a 2.4% drop to 82.0, the Chicago Fed reported.

Nationally, the Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing fell 0.2% in April. Overall manufacturing output in the region dropped 22.7% from a year earlier, compared to a 14.3% decline in output nationally in that period.
