Bullard Sees Rates Staying Low

Any effects from President-elect Donald Trump's stimulus policies won't be seen before next year and inflation seems tame, so the fed funds rate target can remain low, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard said Thursday.

"These considerations suggest that the policy rate can remain fairly low in 2017," he said, according to prepared text of a speech released by the Fed.
