Broward County Taps CFO From Beverly Hills

Broward County, Fla., has hired Scott G. Miller as its new chief financial officer. He will take the CFO's post on Monday. He will also direct Broward's finance and administrative services department.

Miller, who has 29 years of experience, most recently was CFO and administrative services director for Beverly Hills, Calif.

"Dr. Miller brings extensive experience in both the public and private sectors in finance, accounting, budgeting, human resources, treasury, bond and debt financing, and employee relations," said Broward County Administrator Bertha Henry. "I look forward to working with him as a member of our management team."

As head of finance and administration, Miller will manage a budget of more than $270 million and 550 employees.

His past experience in the private sector includes financial and systems control manager for Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc., and a manager for Ernst and Young as well as Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, now known in the United States as Deloitte LLP.

Miller received a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University, a master's degree from the University of Georgia and a doctorate in public administration from Arizona State University.
