Broken Arrow Independent School District No. 3 has agreed to buy additional properties to clear the site for the districts $19.1 million performing arts center.
School officials said the district, located near Tulsa, would pay for the properties with $1.2 million from a $42 million bond issue voters approved for the project in March 2004.
The purchase leaves the board with three property packages left to buy before starting work on the project, with the final land acquisition set for March.
Demolition work could get under way as early as March. Construction could begin on the center by January 2006.
