Atlanta's Jackson Securities Shuffles Management

ATLANTA - Jackson Securities, a business unit of Atlanta Life Financial Group, announced several management changes earlier this week.

The Atlanta-based company named Reuben McDaniel3d as chief executive officer. He currently serves as its president and will continue in that role.

Robert Atkins, the current vice president and treasurer of Atlanta Life Financial Group,has been named chief operating officer.

Dudley Brown, who had been the CEO, is leaving the company. Neither company officials nor Brown were available to comment specifically on his departure, except to say in a press release that he will be pursuing other business ventures.

Meanwhile, McDaniel said the change in the market environment has provided many opportunities to focus on increasing the public finance side of the business. He said public finance business is up about 20% for the firm since last year.

"All bets are off now," he said. "So much has changed in this business. It's no longer just a commodity business."
