Academy Securities hired Kevin Steinhauer as director of municipal trading, part of a continuing expansion of the New York based veteran-owned investment bank and broker-dealer's muni business.

Steinhauer's 25 years of experience started at JPMorgan. More recently he was a director for Rafferty Capital.

“I am really excited to join this platform," he said Monday. "It’s not just the firm’s military cause but there is a great team and I am looking forward to helping the firm keep on building and succeeding.”

Steinhauer is Academy's first hire since Rick Kolman joined the firm in May as managing director and head of its municipal securities group.

“This is just one move of many more to come,” said Kolman. “Academy has made great strides but we want to further enhance our presence, coverage and relationships. Adding a seasoned trader who is accustomed to engaging with major tax exempt intuitional investors is a good next step for our focus on continuing our growth. We are excited to have Kevin on board.”
