Leaders at the Boston and St. Louis Federal Reserve Banks joined Richmond, Cleveland, San Francisco and Kansas City in calling for a discount rate hike at their most recent meeting, according to minutes released Tuesday.
The 12 regional banks are now split evenly, with New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas backing keeping the rate at 1%.
