NEW YORK - The Treasury Department today sold $35 billion 21-day cash management bills, dated Aug. 26, due Sept. 16, at a 0.170% high tender rate.
The bid to cover ratio was 3.79.
The coupon equivalent was 0.172%. The price was 99.990083.
The low bid was 0.140%. The median bid was 0.160%. Tenders at the high were allotted 4.74%.
Tenders totaled $132,494,412,500 and the Treasury accepted $35,001,687,500, including $1,090,000 non-competitive.
It was another "topsy-turvy day" for munis, said Kim Olsan, senior fixed income portfolio manager at NewSquare Capital. Munis have been weaker on the front end for a few days, leading to a slight inversion of the curve, starting around the 2028 maturities, Olsan said.
