Former Denver Schools CFO David Hart Joins PFM

DALLAS — David D. Hart, former chief financial officer for Denver Public Schools and senior vice president for D.A. Davidson & Co., has joined Public Financial Management Inc. as a director in Denver.

In addition to his four years as CFO at Denver Public Schools, Hart's 25-year career in public finance included working as CFO at the Douglas County School District and as a finance executive at the City and County of Denver.

"We are extremely pleased to have someone with David's extensive management experience and technical abilities join us," said Peter Miller, PFM Managing Director and head of the firm's western region.

At DPS, Hart supervised $2 billion of debt financings while managing the district's budget.  At D.A. Davidson, Hart worked with local governments in Colorado.

"Hart's comprehensive local government finance experience - ranging from providing executive financial leadership for large, complex public sector entities to managing cross-functional project teams to conducting rating agency presentations to investment portfolio administration - makes him uniquely qualified to provide a full complement of public finance services to school districts, cities, counties, and other issuers," PFM said in its announcement.

D.A. Davidson ranked fourth among senior managers in Colorado in 2014, according to data from Thomson Reuters.  Neither Davidson nor PFM were in the top 5 among financial advisors.

Hart earned a masters of public administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver and two undergraduate degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder.
