Gov. Charlie Baker and state Treasurer Deborah Goldberg will speak at the sixth annual Massachusetts Investor Conference Dec. 7 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
Ann Klee, vice president for Boston development and operations for General Electric Co., will discuss GE's relocation from Fairfield, Conn., to the Boston waterfront.
In a package that many municipal observers called relatively modest given GE's size, Massachusetts offered up to $120 million through grants and other programs such as transportation infrastructure, while Boston agreed to chip in up to $25 million in property tax relief. GE on Nov. 21 announced the sale of its former headquarters to Sacred Heart University, also of Fairfield.
Candida Wolff, executive vice president and head of global government affairs at Citi and former assistant to the president for legislative affairs under George W. Bush, will provide a post-election "what's next" analysis. Michael Goodman, executive director of the Public Policy Center at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, will update investors on the commonwealth's economy.
Discussions will include a review of Massachusetts transportation; an issuer's roundtable; and "Massachusetts and beyond: the state and national experience."
