Foux Leaving Citi for Barclays

Mikhail Foux who has spent the past eight years at Citigroup, is leaving to be the head of municipal bond strategy at Barclays Capital, according to a person with first-hand knowledge of the move.

Foux will replace Tom Weyl, who left Barclays last year to lead new business at National Public Finance Guarantee Corp., according to the person, who spoke anonymously because the hiring hasn't been announced officially. Foux, who was head of the muni strategy team at Citi, is expected to start at Barclays later this month.

Before his almost nine years at Citi, Foux was vice president of Credit Suisse and prior to that, was an associate at Banco Santander, according to his LinkedIn page.

A spokesperson for Citi confirmed Vikram Rai, who currently works with George Friedlander, would head Citi's muni strategy group, but declined to comment further.

Rai, has been at Citi for a little more than seven years, first serving as an associate in the rates trading group and then being promoted three years later to director of fixed income strategy, where he has been in that role for the past 4 years, according to his LinkedIn page.
