Home prices in 20 U.S. cities rose 5.9% in the 12 months through January, setting a 31-month high, according to S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller data reported Tuesday.
In December, prices rose 5.9%. The January 10-city composite grew 5.1% year-over-year, up from 4.8% in December, while the 20-city composite rose 5.7%, up from 5.5%.
"Seattle, Portland and Denver reported the highest year-over-year gains among the 20 cities for the 12th consecutive month, with year-over-year price increases of 11.3%, 9.7% and 9.2%, respectively," according to the report.
