Muni Indexes Stable in Holiday Week

The weekly average yield to maturity of the Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, was down five basis points this past week, to 4.64 for the week ending April 17.

The 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields plunged was unchanged at 4.32%, the lowest since June 13.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yield also didn't budge, remaining at 4.03%, the lowest since June 13.

The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index, which measures 30-year revenue bond yields, slid six basis point this week, to 5.12%, the lowest since Aug. 8.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note jumped 9 basis points to 2.73%, after falling 15 basis points the prior week.

The yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond edged up one basis point to 3.53%, after gaining losing 11 basis points the week before.
