JPMorgan’s James Lansing has left the firm’s public finance department.

Last month, he made a departmental change and is now the global head of compliance infrastructure, according to a person familiar with the matter.

In his new role, Lansing’s responsibilities will include development and implementation of technology solutions, as well as streamlining end-to-end processes.

According to the most recent chairman and chief executive officer letter to shareholders from Jamie Dimon, the firm has been focusing on improving its compliance, and it has been significantly increasing its compliance staff over the last three years.

Lansing has been with JPMorgan for 15 years, most recently as managing director and head of debt capital markets, credit portfolio and investor marketing for public finance. Before that he ran sales, trading, structuring and distribution in various products in the investment bank.

A spokesperson for JPMorgan declined to comment.
