Dallas Fed: Texas Service Sector Activity Slowed in April

Texas service sector activity expanded slower in April, according to business executives responding to the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey, as the revenue index sank to 6.1 from 15.4.

The employment index gained to 9.2 from 8.3, the part-time employment index slipped to 1.4 from 5.8, the hours worked index increased to 7.1 from 3.1, the wages and benefits index rose to 15.7 from 11.6, the input prices index gained to 26.0 from 25.3, the selling prices index grew to 6.4 from 5.8, the capital expenditures index fell to 7.5 from 15.8, the general business activity index slipped to 3.7 from 9.8.

The future revenue index fell to 33.9 from 42.7, the employment index slid to 24.4 from 25.6, the part-time employment index dropped to 6.5 from 15.7, the hours worked index grew to 8.2 from 7.9, the wages and benefits index slipped to 34.7 from 39.7, the input prices index fell to 45.1 from 46.7, the selling prices index slid to 21.1 from 27.9, the capital expenditures index sank to 17.9 from 25.4, the general business activity index fell to 10.8 from 18.7.
