Moody's: Michigan Schools Face Tough Future

Moody's Investors Service this year has downgraded nearly a quarter of the local school districts it rates in Michigan, a big jump from last year that reflects growing budget strains and challenges.

Per this article and previous information provided by Bond Buyer, the funding of the City of Detroit's two retirement systems (D.C. and Detroit ranked at the top) appear to be in significantly better shape than the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System (at an estimated 64.7% in 2011).
