The development teams of Galaxy General Contracting, Arverne by the Sea LLC and Bluestone Organization will help rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Sandy under a request for qualifications under the Build It Back program, New York City Housing Preservation and Development Commissioner Mathew Wambua announced.
Wambua made the announcement Monday in conjunction with Brad Gair, director of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's office of housing operations.
The city issued the RFQ in May to identify development teams who could rebuild one- to four-unit privately owned homes to replace those destroyed in the Oct. 29 storm.
With the selection process completed, the city and the development teams will begin hosting information sessions. The development areas are primarily in water-exposed parts of the city's five boroughs.
