Revenues See $96M Rise

The Louisiana Department of Revenue this week said that collections in the first four months of fiscal 2012 totaled $2.36 billion, up $96 million from the same period in fiscal 2011.

Sales tax collections from July through October totaled $869 million, an increase of less than 1% from the $865 million generated in the comparable period a year before.

Individual income tax receipts in the period were $931 million, an increase of $128 million.

Preliminary figures from December show total collections of $470.6 million.
