Oakland County, Mich., OKs $1.2B, Three-Year Budget

Oakland County, Mich., last week approved a $1.27 billion three-year general-fund budget that includes no tax increases and $500 bonuses for most full-time employees in the first year.

The general fund budget includes $419 million for fiscal 2013, $425 million for 2014 and $429 million for 2015.

The all-fund budgets total $776.3 million for fiscal 2013, $782 million in 2014, and $786.5 million in 2015, according to the county.

The budget includes a bonus for employees but no salary increases for the first year.

It also includes changes to employee health care benefits.

“Oakland County lives within its means,” County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said, touting the county government’s triple-A ratings from Moody’s Investors Service and Standard & Poor’s.
