The Virginia Department of Transportation and the office of transportation public-private partnerships have released a request for information to develop a procurement strategy for the state’s five transportation operations centers.
The RFI is seeking suggestions to help develop a formal procurement initiative, and eventually expects that a single respondent will be selected to make improvements and operate all five TOCs.
VDOT currently operates each center with different organizational structures and contracts.
A P3 is being considered to design, implement and finance a new operations and maintenance platform for all TOCs through a potential 10-year contract, according to the RFI.
The contractor would be paid through annual service fees.
VDOT will offer a webinar on Feb. 6 to answer questions. Responses to the RFI are due by Feb. 17.
