Fitch Ratings placed all outstanding notes of the Vermont Student Assistance Corp. 1995 bond resolution on negative rating watch.
The rating agency said it’s waiting for information to determine whether Fitch’s current rating of AA-minus on the VSAC notes is still appropriate.
On June 28, the Internal Revenue Service notified VSAC that it has extended its audit of accounting practices before 2008.
The nonprofit student aid agency, which began in 1965, provides grants, loans, scholarships, career and education planning to state residents.
