Fed’s Rosengren Sees Less Accommodation

Boston Federal Reserve president Eric Rosengren yesterday said he is confident that if warranted by conditions in the economy, the Fed will shift its monetary policy to an “appropriately” less accommodative stance.

In remarks prepared for the annual meeting of the Massachusetts Newspaper Publishers Association, Rosengren said he does not expect conditions within the U.S. economy in the near term that would lead to a rise in inflation.

“And, in general, I am confident that as conditions merit, the Federal Reserve will adjust the stance of monetary policy to an appropriately less accommodative stance,” he said.
