AG Mims Set to Join H&W

Outgoing Virginia Attorney General William C. Mims will join Hunton & Williams LLP when his term ends in January. He will become a partner and serve on the government relations team.

Mims became attorney general in February when the General Assembly selected him to serve the remainder of Robert F. McDonnell’s term.

McDonnell resigned to run for governor and beat state Sen. Creigh Deeds, D-Bath, last week. Mims will be succeeded by Republican Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli.

Mims had previously served in the General Assembly representing parts of Fairfax and Loudon counties.

Hunton & Williams was Virginia’s second-largest bond counsel by par amount with $1.74 billion in 23 deals in 2008, according to Thomson Reuters.
