MONDAY, January 7
The Treasury raises $6.998 billion at its regular weekly auction of three-month and six-month discount bills by selling $37.0 billion to refund $30.002 billion of maturing securities. Also maturing is an estimated $23.0 billion of publicly held four-week Treasury bills, the disposition of which will be announced.

TUESDAY, January 8
Consumer credit figures for November are released by the Federal Reserve Board.

THURSDAY, January 10
Initial jobless claims for the week ending Dec. 5 are announced by the Labor Department.
Wholesale trade figures for November are released by the Commerce Department.

FRIDAY, January 11
International trade figures for November are released by the Commerce Department.

Import and export price figures for December are released by the Labor Department.
The federal budget deficit or surplus for December is released by the Treasury Department.
