The municipal bond market is awaiting Wednesday's slew of new primary market issuance, which is topped off by more than $1 billion of debt from an issuer in the Lone Star State.

Standard and Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its rating on Greenville, Ala.'s existing general obligation debt to A from A-minus.

The Midwest Economy Index fell to 0.51 in October from a revised 0.46 in September, first reported as 0.51, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago said Wednesday.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey released its proposed 2015 budget for public review eight days before a scheduled vote on the fiscal plan.
