The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission late last week advanced plans for a new Vikings stadium by naming an architect and construction manager for a feasibility study that will include a cost estimate for the project.

The stadium would be built on the current site of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. The National Football League’s Vikings currently share the dome with the Minnesota Twins and the University of Minnesota Gophers, but construction of new homes for those two teams is currently underway.
