U.S. Government Ran $136.5 Billion Deficit in Oct.

The federal government ran a $136.5 billion budget deficit in October, the Treasury Department reported Thursday.

The October deficit followed a $91.1 billion budget surplus in September.

Outlays in October totaled $374.578 billion. Receipts totaled $211.046 billion.

In October 2014, the government ran a $121.7 billion deficit.
