NEW YORK - The University of Michigan's final November consumer sentiment index reading was 64.1, compared to the preliminary November 64.2, the final October 60.9, and the final September 59.4, according to market sources.
The expectations index was 55.4, compared to 56.2 earlier in November, 51.8 in October, and 49.4 in September.
The current conditions index was 77.6, compared to 76.6 earlier in November, 75.1 in October, 73.8 earlier in October, and 74.9 in September.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 64.5 reading for the main index, 76.8 for current conditions and 56.3 for expectations.
The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.7% compared to 2.6% earlier in November, 2.7% in October, 2.9% in September, and 2.9% in August, while the one-year inflation expectation index was 3.2%, compared to 3.2% earlier in November, 3.2% in October, 3.3% in September, and 3.5% in August.
The University of Michigan index is not released to the press, but only to paying subscribers.
