Treasury: U.S. Gov’t Ran $150.4B Deficit in November

WASHINGTON – The government posted a $150.4 billion in November, the largest monthly deficit since July, the Treasury Department reported Friday.

Receipts totaled $149.0 billion and outlays were $299.4 billion for the month. The October budget deficit was unrevised at $140.4 billion.

Economists expected a $131.0 billion deficit for the month, according to the median estimate from Thomson Reuters.

For the first two months of fiscal 2011, the government has a $290.8 billion deficit. The U.S. has had 26 straight monthly budget deficits.
