State Aims to Beat Target

Vermont expects to finish its fiscal year ahead of its revenue target by about $20 million, according to Secretary of Administration Jeb Spaulding.

Year-to-date general fund revenues totaled $1.038 billion, which is $19.8 million, or nearly 2%, ahead of target, Spaulding said in a monthly report, released last week. Vermont’s fiscal year ends June 30.

“However, there is a good deal of uncertainty globally and we cannot conclude at this point that revenues for the next fiscal year will see a similar uptick,” he said.

Transportation infrastructure bond fund gasoline receipts for May were up $1.45 million, or 10.5% ahead of target, while year-to-date receipts of $14.9 million were short of target by 0.3%. TIB fund diesel receipts were $200,000, or nearly 32% above the monthly target, while year to date, they were down $1.64 million, or 0.2% short of target.
