Construction spending increased 0.6% in September, the Commerce Department said Monday, and is 14.1% above the September 2014 level.
In August, construction spending rose 0.7%.
Spending on private construction grew 0.6% in the month, while public construction gained 0.7%.
Residential construction gained 1.9%.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters predicted a 0.5% increase in construction spending.
