The University of Michigan's preliminary November consumer sentiment index reading was 93.1, compared to the final October 90.0 and the preliminary October 92.1, according to market sources.

The expectations index was 85.6, compared to the final October 82.1 and the preliminary October 82.7.

The current conditions index was 104.8, compared to the final October 102.3 and the preliminary October 106.7.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 91.5 reading for the main index, 103.0 for current conditions, and 84.0 for expectations.

The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.5%, compared to 2.5% in October, while the one-year inflation expectation index was 2.5%, compared to 2.7% in October.

The University of Michigan index is not released to the press, but only to paying subscribers.
