The region's non-manufacturing sector gained in December, as the general business conditions index rose to 35.3 from 26.3 in November, this month's Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Report on Business indicates.
At the company level, the general business activity index slid to 25.5 from 26.3.
The prices paid index was 21.6, up from 19.3 last month, new orders index climbed to 19.6 from 15.8, sales or revenues increased to 25.5 from 22.8, the unfilled orders index increased to 3.9 from 3.5, the inventories index fell to zero from 5.3, prices received slipped to 13.7 from 21.1, the number of full time employees index gained to 17.6 from 10.5, and the average employee workweek slipped to 8.8 from 7.8.
The six months from now regional general business conditions index fell to 39.2 from 43.9, while the company general business conditions index increased to 52.9 from 50.9.
