The region's non-manufacturing sector climbed in September, as the general business conditions index increased to 29.3 from 15.4 in August, this month's Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Report on Business indicates.
At the company level, the general business activity index rose to 26.8 from 7.7.
The prices paid index was 12.2, down from 23.1 last month, new orders index grew to 22.0 from 10.3, sales or revenues increased to 34.1 from 5.1, the unfilled orders index fell to zero from 5.1, the inventories index dipped to 4.9 from 5.1, prices received slid to 7.3 from 10.3, the number of full time employees index dropped to 4.9 from 15.4, the number of part time employees index reversed to positive 12.2 from negative 5.1, and the average employee workweek climbed to 17.1 from 10.3.
The six months from now regional general business conditions index grew to 80.5 from 79.5, while the company general business conditions index decreased to 85.4 from 87.2.
