Philadelphia Fed Non-Mfg Regional Index Falls to 17.5 in Oct.

The region's non-manufacturing sector declined in October, as the general business conditions index fell to 17.5 from 29.3 in September, this month's Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Report on Business indicates.

At the company level, the general business activity index rose to 37.5 from 26.8.

The prices paid index was 17.5, up from 12.2 last month, new orders index grew to 30.0 from 22.0, sales or revenues decreased to 17.5 from 34.1, the unfilled orders index grew to 15.0 from zero, the inventories index rose to 10.0 from 4.9, prices received surged to 22.5 from 7.3, the number of full time employees index soared to 20.0 from 4.9, the number of part time employees index rose to 15.0 from 12.2, and the average employee workweek climbed to 20.0 from 17.1.

The six months from now regional general business conditions index grew to 85.0 from 80.5, while the company general business conditions index decreased to 85.0 from 85.4.
