Nixon Peabody promoted Eric Brenner, public finance and project finance attorney, to counsel as part of its 2026 counsel class.
Brenner specializes in conduit financing, including healthcare, higher education and charter school financings.
"The counsel role is a promotion and it's also a steppingstone for continued growth and development," Brenner said. "The counsel role will also allow me to mentor other associates at the firm. I'm grateful for that mentoring opportunity, because I'm also grateful for the mentors that helped shape my career."
Brenner, who joined the firm in 2021, is based in Albany. Most of his work involves transactions in New York, but he's worked on deals across the country. He's served as bond counsel, borrowers counsel, or underwriters counsel on taxable and tax-exempt financings.
"I really enjoyed working on complex financing that impacts our communities," Brenner said. "Every structure is unique and it's really exciting to work on a project that you see as providing a direct impact to the community."
"I've practiced public finance exclusively my entire career, and at Nixon, I'm really fortunate to work with a great team across the firm's public finance and project finance platform," Brenner said.
