News In Brief: Treasury to Sell 4-Week Bills Today

WASHINGTON - The Treasury Department yesterday said it will sell $16 billion of four-week discount bills today.

The four-week, or 28-day, bills will pay down $3.000 billion by auctioning $16.000 billion to refund $19.000 billion of maturing bills.

The issue date is May 2 and the maturity date is May 30.

Federal Reserve Banks hold $12.570 billion of maturing bills in their own accounts.
